    Use this form to renew your Exempt property.
  • Registered Property Information:

  • Don't know your Parcel Number? Look it up using the County's website! https://propertytax.peoriacounty.gov/

  • Exemptions:

    You may register as exempt if:

    • You own and live in one unit of a duplex. - Provide Proof of residency. 
    • The property is vacant and for sale – Provide proof of sale or MLS listing each year. 
    • The property has a City of Peoria Mothball Permit – Submit a copy of the permit each year.
    • The property is in probate or estate settlement – Provide proof of status each year.
    • The property is occupied by an immediate family member (child, sibling, parent, grandparent) - Provide proof of residency.
    • The property is owner-occupied but temporarily vacant for up to 6 months (Snowbirds) – Provide proof of residency.

    All exemptions must be renewed annually either by completing this form or by emailing rentalregistration@peoriagov.org.

    1. I, the undersigned, acknowledge that the data submitted in this application is an accurate representation of the data of this application, and the statement shall be prima facie proof of the statements in any administrative enforcement or court proceedings.
    2. I understand that it is illegal to operate a rental property within the City of Peoria without registering the property as non-owner occupied.
    3. I understand that failure to comply or provide accurate information will result in legal actions and fines. 
    4. I understand that the submission and approval of this application does not indicate that the property complies with the Zoning Ordinance, Building Codes, or Property Maintenance Code.
    5. I understand that I must notify the Accounts Receivable office within ten (10) business days of any change in the registration statement or status.
    6. I understand that a property manager contact must be provided if I do not or no longer reside within the Tri-County (Peoria, Woodford, or Tazewell) area of the City of Peoria, IL. 
    7. I agree to conduct a self-inspection of all registered rental properties and will not rent the property until it complies with all applicable codes.
